Frequently asked questions

Does the diameter of the spare wheel need to be the same as the original wheel?

No, the diameter of the spare wheel does not need to be identical to that of the original wheel. However, it is important that the diameter of your spare wheel is equal to or larger than the smallest size that can be mounted according to your vehicle’s documentation. For example, if your vehicle is equipped with a 17″ wheel, you can mount a 16″ wheel on the same vehicle if the original brake kit allows for 16″ wheels. If there is a product answer for your vehicle in our configurator, this means that our technical service has validated the installation.

What’s included in the spare wheel kit?

The spare wheel kit contains at minimum a tire (inflated) mounted on a rim (aluminum or sheet steel), a jack (compatible with your vehicle’s specifications), and a wrench. Everything is stored in a special bag! Depending on the kit you order, it may optionally also include a pair of sturdy work gloves.

What is the speed limit when driving with a mounted spare wheel/space-saver?

With a new spare wheel, you can drive up to a maximum speed of approximately 80 km/h. Follow these instructions carefully.

Is my original location compatible with your spare wheel kit?

No, a spare wheel often doesn’t fit in your car’s compartment. This is because the compartment is no longer specifically designed for a spare wheel. To determine in advance whether the spare wheel kit will fit, we have listed the dimensions of each kit.
